Economic Survey 2022: GDP could be 8-8.5% in next financial year, projected to be 9.2% in 2021-22

The Economic Survey 2022 was presented to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram today, January 31. At the same time, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha have been adjourned till tomorrow. The economic survey presents the whole picture of the economy and has a year-round blueprint. It is the mainstay of the budget. It has expressed the possibility of a slowdown in the growth rate in the next financial year 2022-23. Growth is projected at 9.2 per cent in the current financial year and 8 to 8.5 per cent in the next financial year.
- In the current financial year (2021-22), the growth of agriculture sector will be 3.9 percent.
Growth in the industrial sector is projected to be 11.8 per cent during the current financial year.
- Growth in the services sector is expected to be 8.2 per cent during FY2021-22.
- Exports may increase by 16.5 per cent during FY 2021-22.
- Imports are projected to grow by 29.4 per cent during the current financial year.
- Consumption has increased by 7% in the current financial year with a large contribution from the government.
- During April-November of this financial year, the capital expenditure in railways was Rs. 65,157 crore.
- The price of crude oil in the global market is estimated to be 70 70-75 per barrel.
With the economic survey coming up, it looks like the 'good old days' of our economy are about to return. Even before the Corona epidemic began, the growth of our economy had slowed down and Corona made the situation worse.
