Information about linear alkyl benzene (Lab)

The basic raw material for making synthetic detergent (sine date) is linear alkyl benzene, linear alkyl benzene sulfonic acid (LABSA), also called acid slurry. Detergents or washing powders are made using acid slurry neutralize by soda S and additions of fillers such as sodium sulphate, salt and other chemicals.

Cindet detergent production in India in 2006 was estimated at 4.5 million tonnes. In which edition 0.5 MT laundry soap which was made by vegetable oil saponification.

About 0.2 MT of linear alkyl benzene is required to make 2.8 million tons of detergent. Another type of surfactant is alpha olefin sulfonate.

Then other types of N-ionic surfactants like fatty alcohol sulphate, fatty alcohol ether sulphate, sulfo succinate etc. are used for personal care. But this type of ionic surfactant is rarely used.

The Indian Lab Industries: There are four companies in India that manufacture linear alkyl benzene raw materials. In which Reliance Industries Ltd. The abyss is Ganga and Baroda. Nirma Lee. Baroda, Tamil Nadu Petro Products Chennai, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is in Baroda.

The total production of these four lab manufacturers in 2008 was estimated at 6000 TPA. Each of these lab manufacturers has its own plant for normal paraffin (show) production. But kerosene has to depend on the nearest refinery. With four to five parts of kerosene, refunds have to be made after processing. While Baroda has its own PDS kerosene refinery. Reliance, Nirma and Tamil Nadu Petro Products then have to rely on outsourcing. Which can be considered as disadvantage. Because they have to pay the kerosene price. The landed price on kerosene has to be calculated.

Indian Lab: The lab production capacity of four Indian manufacturers is estimated at 2000 TPA. It had a lab production of 30,000 tonnes in 2007 against a demand of 30,000 tonnes. With that, export promotion order was 100,000 tons. Which can be considered as the benefit of the manufacturers.

TPL Chennai 150 TPA outsourced kerosene and NP

IOC Baroda 150 TPA on PDS Kerosene

Total: 3 TPA

International Lab Scenarios: China Lab Manufacturers Get Kerosene Supply Jet Fuel Price Discount. China Lamb manufacturers, on the other hand, get 40 per cent subsidy on kerosene prices. While the source of kerosene to Middle East lab manufacturers is the Arab Gulf Price Advantage. Europe and the US have similar benefits.

For this reason, the prices of word level labs are lower than ours. So there is a big difference in the price of detergents at the international level. Today, international companies are leading the way in our detergent products in India.

Acid Slurry: As the basic raw material of acid slurry is linear alkyl benzene, the price of acid slurry is increasing. That is why the detergent industries are having trouble. Given the above reasons, there is no possibility of Indian Lab prices coming down anytime soon.
