Unjha Market Yard closed spontaneously
Ahmedabad / Unjha, Ta. 08 December 2020, Tuesday
Traders at Unjha Market Yard have backed the announcement of an India Dam by farmers who have been fighting against the government at Delhi's borders for the past 15 days over the repeal of new agricultural laws.
During the day, there was a holiday atmosphere in Unjha Ganj Bazaar. The market yard, which is usually bustling with 8 to 10 thousand sacks of traders daily, seemed to be in a state of disarray today due to lack of work.
The Unjha Market Yard has been closed since this morning as traders have been away from work. Announcements were made from the market yard that the auction would continue. However, there was no farmer income today in support of the farming movement. Also, the auction could not be held as there were no piles of goods from the traders. Traders supported the closure announcement by keeping spontaneous trades closed.
Although a handful of traders tried to trade in Unjha Yard in heaps, the auction was completed in a timely manner. With the exception of the market yard in Unjha, local markets were running as usual during the day.
Following the announcement of the closure of India, it was announced by the authorities of various market yards yesterday afternoon that the market will continue tomorrow (today - 9/12). But today most of the farmers did not bring their goods to sell in the market yard. As well as in the market yard where 15 to 20 people are auctioned daily. There were only two or three people to be auctioned off today.
In some market yards, the auction did not even take place. Due to which the prices were not disclosed. Although the yards were maintained by the entire market yard authorities, today the market yards in North Gujarat, Banaskantha, Patan, Sabarkantha and Aravalli districts were largely closed.
