Mumbai, Ta. Monday, January 25, 2021

By 2020, China is set to overtake the United States as the world's largest recipient of foreign direct investment (FDI). The spread of corona slowed down FDI inflows in most countries of the world.

Last calendar year, China received ૬૩ 16 billion in FDI, compared to અમેરિકા 16 billion in the United States. According to a list from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, FDI inflows into India grew by 12 per cent to à««à« 4 billion during the year.

In 2016, FDI inflows to the US were 21 billion, compared to નમાં 150 billion in China. Thus, in 2020, China has overtaken the United States in terms of FDI.

The last quarter of 2020 was a good year, with economic activity in China improving faster than expected. In 2020, China's economic growth rate has been positive at 7.50%, while the growth rate of most countries in the world has been negative. Economists around the world have been surprised that China sustained its economy in the Corona era despite trade tensions with the United States. If we talk about global FDI in 2020, it was down 3% to ૮૫૯ 3 billion. In 2016, the figure was ૫ 1.50 trillion.

Out of the total FDI inflows by 2020, 8 per cent were in developed countries and 21 per cent in East Asian countries, the list said. The rise in FDI indicates that the attraction to China has not diminished, with countries around the world blaming China for the spread of the corona and seeking an alternative to China for trade.
