A record amount of funds to be raised by companies through IPOs this year
AHMEDABAD: The stock market has set a number of records in the current calendar year 2021. The boom in the stock market has also boosted the primary market. Given this, companies are likely to raise a record amount of funds through IPOs this year.
In the year 2020, after the easing of various restrictions since June, the primary market has also been booming. As a result, 15 IPOs were launched last year. A fund of Rs 2,114 crore was raised.
The boom seen in the primary market last year has remained intact in the current year 2021 as well. So far this year, six companies have filed IPOs. 316.5 crore has been collected.
More than 20 companies have filed prospectus with market regulator SEBI to bring in an IPO. More EPOs are expected in the next four months after the approval of SEBI. In view of this, Rs. One lakh crore is expected to be raised. Earlier in 2012, Rs. 6,000 crore has been collected.
It may be mentioned that Paytm, Adani Wilmar, Policy Bazar, Aadhaar Housing Finance, Aditya Birla Sunlife, Prudent Corporate Advisory, Amcure Pharma, MobiQuick, Fincare Small Phi. Prospectuses have been filed by other companies including the bank. The IPO will be brought after approval. The government-owned LIC is also in the process of launching an IPO.
