Retail inflation falls to 3-month low in July, IIP 13.6% in June

Retail inflation was 5.59 per cent in July this year. Which is 0.67 per cent less than this June. It was 6.26 percent in June 2021 and 6.73 percent in July 2020. The Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation gave this information on Thursday. Industrial production fell to 13.6 per cent in June from 29.3 per cent in May.
At the same time, retail inflation has fallen within the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) target range. According to government figures, the decline was due to lower food prices and disruption in the supply chain. The government has directed the RBI to keep retail inflation at 4 per cent with a margin of 2 per cent.
In July 2021, the plate of food also became cheaper. The consumer food price index was 3.96 percent in July. The rate was 5.15 per cent in June. In a recent survey, economists had projected retail inflation at 5.78 per cent in July. In June, mine production rose 23.1 percent and power generation 8.3 percent.
