America's domestic workforce is a headache for IT companies in the country

Mumbai, Ta. 31 August 2019, Saturday

After US President Donald Trump tightened visa standards, it was becoming a headache for Indian Information Technology (IT) companies to recruit employees locally in the US, and the country's IT companies had to fight legal issues with local US employees on several issues. Companies are also scared to grow.

The recruitment of locally-hired employees in the United States is subject to various conditions. One of these conditions is also related to the transfer. However, the source said that IT companies in the country are having a bitter experience. American employees are not ready to transfer from one city to another within their own country and if the company compulsorily replaces them, the employees are showing the court gate to the company, sources in the HR department of an IT company said.

The pressure to recruit locally in the United States has increased, but the shortage of employees with IT talent is making the situation worse for companies. Due to scarcity, local staff is on hand.

Indian IT companies continue to be accused of being biased, even though they spend huge sums of money locally in the US. The country's IT companies spend a significant amount of money every year on providing training to employees in the US, the source added.

Indian companies are also having to seek the help of subcontractors in the US to meet their clients, which is proving costly for them. The cost of Indian employees with HB visas is about twenty to twenty-five percent lower than that of US domestic workers, so Indian companies are giving more priority to such employees. Indian IT companies have to recruit a certain amount of US domestic employees.
