For the first time in a month, PE and VC investments exceed $ 8 billion
Mumbai, Ta. August 20, 2019, Monday
The number of private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) investments in India surpassed $ 4 billion in July. This is the first time that such a large amount of PE and VC investments have occurred in a given month. The inflows have been witnessed due to strong investment activity in the structural and real estate asset sectors, a report said. India is considered to be an indicator of increased PE-VC investment when there is a global recession.
Compared to PE and VC investments of $ 1.8 billion through 5 deals in July 3, PE and VC Investments were seen through 5 deals in July of this year.
Earlier in March, the current year saw a record investment of $ 1.8 billion. The record now collapses to $ 1.8 billion, the report said.
This record has been witnessed by huge deals in the structural and real estate sector. On July 1, the infrastructure sector received $ 1.8 billion worth of PE and VC deals.
In the full year of July 1, the PE and VC deals in the infrastructure sector stood at $ 2 billion, which is more than the total number of such investments in the sector in the last seven years. The total PE and VC investment in infrastructure sector in India in the current year is higher than the total investment in the three major sectors - financial, real estate and technology, the report said.
With the support of such a huge investment in the infrastructure sector, the current year's PE-VC numbers have risen to ninety percent of the total. India is also expected to be the best of the year in terms of PE-VC investment.
The number of deals valued at more than $ 100 million was up to 5 in July. Deals over $ 100 million are put on the big deal list.
