According to industry estimates, between April 1 and September 1, approximately 8 low-electric two-wheelers were sold. Low speed vehicles have smaller lithium-ion batteries and lower acquisition and replacement costs.

Under this scheme, small batteries do not receive subsidy benefits. Only electric two-wheelers with a maximum speed of 5 km per hour and a range of 5 km per charge are subsidized. Due to this rule such vehicles require large batteries to power them but their purchase price is increasing. For this reason, people have turned away from buying electric two-wheelers.
