Sensex surpassed 41000 but also retreated into smallcap stocks

The Sensex has hit a record high on Friday, following a fresh take on the fund. However, the pressure of the sell-offs last week saw a shortfall of 5 to 5 per cent in two small cap stocks that were the leader.

The latest gains in the preferred stock specic stock were up 6.8 percent in the previous week. The Sensex gained 3 and Nifty gained a 3-4 lead. But the small cap and midcap index was backward.

The short-cap segment saw a fall of 3 to 5 per cent in other stocks including Alok Ind, Quality Coffee Day, Caucus & Kings, Reliance Naval, HDI, following a sell-off.

In addition, PNB Housing, Rel., Placed in the BSE-1 Index. Five stocks, including Capital, Yes Bank, were up 5%.
