Stocks of BS-4 Two Wheelers worth Rs 3800 Crores are not sold
Chennai, Ta. March 14, 2020, Saturday
With the auto sector now having only two weeks to turn to the new emission norms, two-wheelers with BS-1 BSDs in India's two-wheeler dealers have accumulated an estimated Rs 5 crore stock.
According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association, a large number of dealers in two wheelers have huge stock stocks that they cannot dispose of within two weeks. Complaints are also being made of the lack of support from the original equipment manufacturers to dispose of this inventory.
BS-5 vehicles will not be sold in India after March 3. Dealers have accumulated stock of 7 lakh BS-2 wheelers, whose total value is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore. Stocks are such a huge concern, an association official said.
The court rejected the association's demand to extend the sale of BS-1 vehicles.
