The Government of India has received complaints from various public media that many foreign countries do not accept international driving permits issued to Indian nationals.

This information has been tweeted on Twitter by NRI. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has advised the States and Union Territories to affix a stamp on the first page of the International Driving Permit (IDP) issued by them.

If you want to travel abroad and drive there, you need an international driving license. But there are some countries where you do not need an international driving license to drive. Let us tell you which countries have Indian licenses and what are the conditions

UK
In the UK, an Indian domestic driving license is valid for 1 year. Here you can drive on the roads of Scotland, Wales and England. But you can’t drive every type of vehicle. There are some restrictions for this.

Australia
In Australia, Indians travel extensively to study, work or travel. Here in New South Wales, Queensland, an Indian driving license can be used for three months. But your driving license should be in English. Driving should also be allowed.

New Zealand
An Indian driving license is also valid in New Zealand but it must be in English. If it is not in English, it should be translated into the New Zealand language. Also, only a person 21 years of age or older can drive in New Zealand.

France
Driving can be done from an Indian driving license in France, but it must be in the language there. It will be valid there for 1 year.

Norway
Driving in Norway for 3 months with an Indian driving license.
