The time limit for implementation of quality rules has been extended by four months
New delhi date. 17 September 2020, Thursday
In view of the adverse effects of the Corona epidemic, the government has extended the deadline for the implementation of the quality rule for the toy industry by another four months.
As per the notification issued by the Department of Industry and Internal Trade, the date of implementation of the Quality Control Order for the toy industry was September 1, 2020. But it was impossible to enforce the rules because of the lockdown that followed the Corona epidemic.
In view of the adversity that has arisen, the implementation date has been extended to January 1, 2021 so that the industry can take necessary steps to comply with the new rules. It may be mentioned here that the import duty was increased last February to curb the import of toys from China. Most of the toys made in India failed the safety and standard test. Toy Order 2020 was announced.
