The next wedding season will see a trade of Rs 3 lakh crore

MUMBAI: The Confederation of All India Traders (CATE) has estimated that the country's business community will trade Rs 3 lakh crore in the coming wedding season after the Dussehra-Diwali festival season.

Keit had earlier noted that the current year's Diwali turnover was Rs 1.5 trillion. Traders across the country, including Delhi, are gearing up for the upcoming wedding season after an encouraging performance on Diwali.

Keit has claimed that approximately 3 lakh marriages will take place across the country between 16th November i.e. Devuthi Ekadashi to 15th December. Due to this, the trade is estimated to be Rs 5 lakh crore.

In the current season, 1.5 lakh marriages are expected to take place in Delhi alone, which will result in a trade of Rs 20,000 crore, Kate said in a statement. Corona has seen a limited number of marriages in the country over the past year and a half as a result of various regulations, which has had a profound effect on trade.

In addition to gold, the wedding season will see widespread demand for catering services, crockery, travel services, etc.
