India can now see the government's efforts to revolutionize semiconductors. American semiconductor company Micron Technology has started work on its first plant in India. Micron has enlisted the help of India's Tata Projects for this plant. For which the company has also started the recruitment process for this plant.

This investment will be made by Micron

The plant is being built by Micron Limited in Sanand, Gujarat. The company is going to invest $2.75 billion in this factory. For which Micron organized a Bhoomi Poojan ceremony on Saturday. In this way the construction work of Micron's first Indian factory in Sanand Industrial Area started.

Tata builds micron plant

The Micron factory is being built on a 93-acre plot in Sanand GIDC-II Industrial Area. Semiconductors will not be produced in this plant of the American company, but assembly, test, marking and packaging work will be done in this plant. Along with the ground-breaking ceremony on Saturday, Micron signed an agreement with Tata Projects for the plant.

Such help will be received from the government

The government is emphasizing on making the country self-reliant in the field of semiconductors. For this reason, the government is helping companies setting up plants in India a lot. Micron also has to get help from the government. The central government will bear half of the total cost of the plant, while the state government will bear 20 per cent of the cost through various relief measures. This way, Micro has to pay only 30 percent of the total cost.

The operation will start from 2025

This Micron plant also includes a 5 lakh square feet room. The company hopes to complete the construction of the plant by the end of next year. The American chip company hopes to complete the operation of the plant by the end of 2024. Only then will the operations of the company be started, which means that operations at this micron plant can start from 2025.

Many people will get employment due to the plant

Micron signed an agreement regarding this plant during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to the US. The company is going to invest a total of 2.75 billion dollars in this plant. The American company will invest 825 million dollars in the construction of this factory in two phases. About 5 thousand people will get direct employment opportunities from this plant, while 15 thousand people are expected to get indirect opportunities.
