Apple Left Behind Samsung: The globally known smartphone company Apple is continuously investing in India. Apple is trying to reduce its dependence on China. So it has started making iPhone in India in the past years. Apart from Apple, brands like Samsung also manufacture their smartphones in India. But Apple has become the number-1 brand in supplying iPhones made in India worldwide.

Apple overtakes Samsung

In the last June quarter, Apple brand has been on top in Made In India Mobile Export (Made In India Mobile Export). For the first time, Apple has overtaken Samsung in smartphone imports from India. Apple shipped 49 percent of the country's total of 12 million shipments, while Samsung shipped only 45 percent.

Apple considers India as the most suitable market

Apple is continuously investing in iPhone manufacturing in India, for which Apple considers India as the most suitable market. There are two reasons behind this : (i) It is cheaper to make smartphones in India. Along with this, the Indian government is giving many concessions to manufacture smartphones at the local level. (ii) India itself is a large smartphone market.

Manufacturing of iPhone in India started in 2017

Apple started manufacturing iPhone in India in the year 2017. Apple first manufactured the iPhone SE in India. While Apple is manufacturing the old model of iPhone 14 in India from the year 2022. But this time the company is manufacturing the base variants of the latest iPhone 15 series, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Also, the Made in India iPhone 15 is available for sale from the first day of the sale.
