Good news: Government order to deposit income tax refund of up to Rs 5 lakh in immediate account
New Delhi, April 8, 2020 Wednesday
The government has made a big decision, relieving ordinary taxpayers and businessmen in this crisis of the Corona virus epidemic. The Finance Ministry has immediately ordered a tax refund of up to Rs 5 lakh. 14 lakh taxpayers will benefit from this decision.
The finance ministry has also ordered a tax refund of GST and customs. This will provide relief to 1 lakh businessmen and MSMEs. The government will announce a total refund of Rs 18,000 crore.
Income tax refund
E-Verification is done after filing income tax. Then it takes 2 to 3 months to receive the Income Tax Refund. However, sometimes credit is due within 15 days.
The status of income tax refunds can be found on the Income Tax e-filing portal and NSDL website. Taxpayers are required to note the PAN number and the Assessment Year.
This is how you can view your refund status on the Income Tax e-filing portal
Step 1 - First go to income tax e-filing portal incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
Step 2 - Then enter your User ID, Password, Date of Birth and Captcha Code and log in to your account Step 3 - Now click on the View Returns / Forms tab
Step 4 - Now here you have to register your PAN number. Now select the Tax Return and Assessment Year from the drop-down list and click on Submit button.
Stop 5 - Now click on the Acceptance Number and you will see the status of the income refund.
