Dollar bounces intra-day to Rs 75, 52-week high


(Gujarat News Office) MUMBAI: The dollar rebounded against the rupee in early trade today. And in the intra-day market, the dollar jumped to the level of Rs 5, but then closed at Rs 3 at the end of the day. The rupee had lost ground in the currency market today despite a rally in the stock market.

The dollar opened at Rs 8 this morning with a high of Rs 6.15 and a low of Rs 4.81 and closed at Rs 4.5. The dollar had gained 17 paise overall. The 52-week high was at Rs 4.05 and the dollar surpassed the dollar today.

However, the dollar index remained soft against various major currencies in world markets. The dollar index, which had a range of 6.5, was at a high of 7.5 today and a low of 6.15 to 7.81.

Unemployment claims in the US were on the rise and its impact on the global dollar index was felt today. Were closing. The pound had gained 6 paise against the rupee today.

The European currency, the euro, also rose by 50 paise today. The euro rose by Rs 4.5 to Rs 4.5 and Rs 4.5. However, against the rupee, the Japanese yen fell 0.16 per cent today.

China's currency, however, rose 0.50 per cent. There were indications that the dollar index in world markets fell from a one-year high. Efforts to raise the debt ceiling on a temporary basis in the United States have been successful. In view of this, the fear of default has been averted immediately, said world market sources.
