The pound fell below Rs 102


(Gujarat News Office) MUMBAI: The rupee depreciated against the rupee in early trade today. The dollar opened at Rs 4.5 this morning with a low of Rs 4.5, after hitting a high of Rs 7.5 and a low of Rs 4.5 to close at Rs 4.5. The dollar had lost 15 paise today.

However, the global index of the dollar against various major currencies in the world market was found in the news today. The dollar index, which had a range of 7.5, was at a high of 7.5 to 7.5 today. The dollar index was up 0.08 per cent.

The two-day meeting of the Federal Reserve in the United States began on Tuesday and will conclude on Wednesday (today). Experts are also likely to indicate when the meeting will raise interest rates.

Meanwhile, the British pound continued to depreciate in the Mumbai currency market today. The pound, which was trading at Rs 103.5, fell to Rs 101.5 today and closed at Rs 101.5.

The pound fell another 3 paise today. However, the European currency, the euro, remained firm today as the British pound weakened.

The euro, which was trading at Rs 4.5, closed higher at Rs 4.31 and lower at Rs 7.5, closing at Rs 4.5. Japan's yen rose 0.61 per cent against the rupee today. According to currency market sources, the Chinese rupee depreciated by 0.4 per cent against the rupee today.
