Sensex hit a new high of 62447 and ended up only 21 points to 62294.
MUMBAI: India's economy continues to grow amid global economic uncertainty amid the opinion of experts, critics, funds continued to create new records in the Indian stock markets over the weekend today with the Sensex creating a new record high of 62,447. Of course, in the stocks today, Sensex, Nifty based on the rise, giving a break to the big boom, funds, players again took advantage of the opportunity of reduced valuing in small, mid cap, cash stocks and there were signs of widening the boom. Ahead of the Gujarat polls, funds bought stocks today amid speculation that the result would favor the one-sided ruling party. Due to which, the possibility of a big all-round boom in the next week started to be discussed. After initially falling to a low of 62115.66 on frontline banking stocks, the Sensex entered the positive zone with buying in automobile, consumer durables, oil-gas, metal-mining stocks, creating a new all-time high of 62447.73 and finally rose 20.96 points to 62293.64. was closed. While the spot Nifty initially fell to 18,445.10 and rose to 18,534.90 and finally closed by 28.65 points at 18,512.75.
Auto index increased by 258 points
Funds in automobile companies stocks were aggressive today. The BSE Auto Index rose 257.78 points to close at 29741.81. Escorts Kubota increased by Rs.93.20 to Rs.2280, Balkrishna Industries increased by Rs.50.70 to Rs.2027.35, Tata Motors increased by Rs.9.90 to Rs.433.25, Hero Motocorp increased by Rs.39.20 to Rs. 2711.85, Bosch increased by Rs.222.35 to Rs.16865.05, Eicher Motors increased by Rs.34.60 to Rs.3413.30, Maruti Suzuki increased by Rs.71 to Rs.9022.95.
Widespread rally in small, mid-cap stocks
Market breadth remained positive as funds, sportsmen's choice increased in small, mid cap, cash stocks today. The possibility of an even wider storm from next week was being discussed in the market today, fueling the rally in small and mid-cap stocks. Out of the total 3632 scrips traded in BSE, the number of gainers was 2119 and the number of decliners was 1386.
DII's net sales of Rs.296 crore
Foreign Portfolio Investors-FPIs, Foreign Institutional Investors-FIIs had a net purchase of Rs.369.08 crore shares in cash segment today-Friday. A total of Rs.5346.89 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs.5715.97 crore. While DII-domestic institutional investors made a net sale of Rs.295.92 crore in the cash segment today. A total of Rs.5654.03 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs.5358.11 crore.
