Plantation of pulses with good rainfall is 162 per cent higher

Compared to July 7 last year, the number of kharif sowings in the country till this period of the current year has been 8% higher. Compared to last year's 2.08 crore hectare area, kharif sowing has been completed on 2.50 crore hectare area in the current kharif season. Given the progress of monsoon, further increase in planting area is likely in the coming days.
The monsoon has reached most parts of the country. Rainfall in June was also 15 per cent higher than normal.
Paddy acreage, which was 2.50 lakh hectares last year, has increased by 5 per cent to 120 lakh hectares in the current season.
Cultivation of pulses has increased by 15% to 2.50 lakh hectares. The area under cereals has been 9 per cent while the area under oilseeds has been 8 per cent higher.
Cotton cultivation has increased by 8% to 104 lakh hectares. The area under pulses in pulses increased by 15 per cent to 2.12 lakh hectares. Adad sowing has been 15 per cent higher. While the planting of mugs has been found to be 15% higher.
In pulses, sorghum sowing area has increased by 31 per cent while millet crop has been increased by 3 per cent so far. Peanut cultivation in oilseeds has increased by 21 per cent while soybean has increased by 4 per cent. However, the area under sugarcane is the same as last year.
