Rupee loses against dollar, pound and euro


MUMBAI: The rupee strengthened against the dollar in early trade today. After opening at Rs 6.15 this morning, the dollar touched a low of Rs 6.15 and then closed at Rs 4.91, a high of Rs 4.5.

The dollar had gained 19 paise today. The pound closed at Rs 100.05 today at Rs 100.05. The pound rose 6 paise today.

The dollar index, which had a low of 8.05, touched a high of 8.10 and a low of Rs 6.50 to Rs 4.5.

Meanwhile, the European currency, the euro, rose in the Mumbai currency market today. Thus, the rupee weakened against the dollar, pound and euro today, market sources said.

The euro opened at Rs 4.5 today with a low of Rs 4.5 and a low of Rs 4.5. The euro rose 3 paise today.
