Wipro laid off 300 employees from its two companies
- Swiggy's moonlighting policy allows an employee to work for another company despite working there
New delhi date. 22 September 2022, Thursday
The opposition to moonlighting i.e. two jobs at the same time in IT companies is currently strong. Rishad Premji, the chairman of the leading IT company Wipro, called this a kind of fraud. 300 employees of his own company were sacked when it was learned that they were also working in a rival company.
Rishad Premji displeased him by showing the way out to two employees working there at the same time
However, his own employees and IT sector employees do not agree with this attitude of Rishad Premji. But companies like TCS and Infosys also agree with Wipro's stance. Rishad Premjio is currently facing huge opposition from IT sector employees for this attitude. He said that despite the opposition, I am firm on my stand. Reiterating his point, he termed moonlighting as a kind of fraud and made it clear that employees working in Wipro cannot work in another company. This is completely dishonest.
Recently, due to Corona, many IT companies had given work from home for almost two years. During this period several employees doubled their income by working at two locations simultaneously. After this matter came to the attention of IT companies, they have started taking action against the IT employees. IT companies have also warned several employees who work this way and asked them to stop working for another company or to choose one of the two.
300 employees have suffered the loss of going against Premji's attitude. Actually moon lightning policy is a facility where an employee working in one company can work in another company. In fact, Swiggy has allowed its employees to do this. He said that his employees can move him to another company or work on his project after they are done there. He can earn by working for another company or on another project after working hours or even on weekends without affecting the productivity of the company.
