Rupee continues to depreciate, opens today at 81.09, all-time low

Ahmedabad. September 23, 2022, Friday

The trend of decline in the Indian currency rupee against the dollar is still being seen today. After closing at an all-time low of 88.86 against the dollar on Thursday, the rupee today opened 23 paise lower at 81.09.

The dollar is rising as global markets rush to the safety of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates, the prospect of war between Russia and Ukraine escalating.

India's current account deficit is increasing, the country's foreign exchange reserves are falling, and the effect is also being seen on the rupee.
