84 percent decline in vehicle sales in Pakistan, over three lakh units sold in India

- Only 2,844 units sold in Pakistan in April 2023

New Delhi: According to the report of Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association, the sales of vehicles in the country has decreased by 84 percent. In April 2023, only 2,844 units were sold in the country, while in April 2022, 18,626 units were sold.

In Pakistan, various factors such as inflation, increase in interest rates, rising petrol-diesel prices and increase in vehicle prices have led to a decline in demand. These factors have affected consumer purchasing power and curbed demand.

The entry-level car segment like the 1000 Bub has been hit the hardest by the decline. According to Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association data, only 276 units were sold in this segment in April.

The above 1300 cc segment, which is bought by the middle class or upper class, sold 1,585 units in April. Last month, 9,189 units were sold in the same segment.

On the one hand, vehicle sales in Pakistan have declined significantly. At the same time, India is witnessing a record boom in vehicle sales. In India, 3.31 lakh vehicles were sold in the month of April. The sales of passenger vehicles also increased in the month of April. It has increased from 1,21,995 units last year to 1,37,320 units.
