Semi conductor current.. India will do in 10 years what China did not do in 30 years
- 50 percent government support: Made in India is coming cheap: India on the path to becoming self-reliant: $10 billion PLI scheme for semiconductor sector
- Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said that the $10 billion PLI scheme for the semiconductor sector will provide a new current in the Indian economy.
- If we look at the history, in 1957, Intel brought an offer for a packaging unit in India, if it had been approved, today India would have become the largest package hub in Asia.
*India will lead the fourth industrial revolution
*India will become third developed country in the world
*Made in India chip will be seen shortly.
Looking at the above three points, it can be said that India is indeed attracting the attention of the world. Investors of the world are trusting India
India is taking up the challenge of doing in ten years what China could not do in 30 years in the field of semiconductors. India's whole semiconductor sector is getting organized to reduce the influence of China from the world. When Prime Minister Modi said that India is interested in being a leader, those involved in the semiconductor sector understood that his policy was encouraging. Government assistance of 50 percent has also been announced for those who want to bring innovation in the semiconductor sector.
The Prime Minister's idea of making India a semiconductor hub has been welcomed by the country's industries. The Prime Minister of India knows that being self-reliant can be more beneficial than depending on the countries of the world. India wants to create a bright future by becoming self-reliant in the field of semiconductors.
IT and Electronics Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has expressed the possibility of an investment of one trillion dollars in the semiconductor sector by 2030.
Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajiv Chandrasekhar has said that the PLI scheme of 10 billion dollars for the semiconductor sector will provide a new current in the Indian economy. The Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) has benefited many sectors.
Efforts to manufacture semiconductor chips at local level in India are being boosted by the government. Top companies are also preparing the required talent for that. India's Vedanta and Taiwan's Foxconn have produced around 85,000 intellectual property globally that are used in the semiconductor sector.
Vedanta and Taiwan's Foxconn have already promised to invest billions of rupees in making semiconductor chips in India. The entrepreneurs who came to Gandhinagar were encouraged to do something new by announcing concessions and facilities.
It has been written in the beginning that what China could not do in thirty years, India wants to do it in ten years. The main purpose behind this is to conquer the world market. For example, India is preparing the statistics of 2030. A phase study is underway to create an eco system connected to the chip and help in its production.
Taking the concept of Semicon India in hand, the government wants to strengthen the economic aspects associated with it by giving support like subsidy. In his speech at Semicon India, the Prime Minister said that the changes we will take will have an impact on the industry as well. The Prime Minister also said that the installed capacity of solar power has also been increased. As the government pays attention to renewable energy, the government is thinking to do the same with the semiconductor industry.
Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said that Micron will create 5000 jobs under the ATMP project. About 15000 jobs will be created indirectly. The government is also separately considering Foxconn and Vedanta's proposal to set up semiconductor units in India.
It is worth mentioning here that the government had started efforts to create an electronics eco system from 2014. In 2014, India was exporting electronic goods worth one lakh crore, today that figure has crossed eight lakh crore.
If we look at the history, in 1957, Intel brought an offer for a packaging unit in India, if it had been approved, today India would have become the largest package hub in Asia.
When Vedanta Chairman Anil Aggarwal said that Made in India will become cheap in the next two and a half years, the announcement was greeted with thunderous applause. Vedanta Group will start production in Special Investment Region at Dholera along with a technical partner.
Anil Agarwal said that five billion dollars will be allocated out of the total investment of 20 billion dollars in the first phase. Now when the government is talking about giving 50 percent relief, it is certain that the investors will get a big relief.
It can also be said that India has rolled out the red carpet for semiconductor companies. Indeed efforts have been started to make India a semicon nation which will bear fruit soon.
