The price of gold foil is 59000 rupees per 10 grams. However, silver and saffron are used more than gold. While Kashmiri saffron is being sold up to 4 lakh 95 thousand rupees per kg. There is a huge demand for this saffron in America, Canada, Britain. The price of saffron has risen by more than 40 percent in the last one year.

The effect of increase in demand is being seen on its price. Kashmiri saffron has got a GI tag. It is the only saffron in the world with a GI tag. Kashmiri saffron is in huge demand in countries across the world. Farmers cultivating Kashmiri saffron have benefited greatly by getting the GI tag.

The price of saffron has increased further after getting the GI tag. Kashmir special saffron is being sold at Rs 2.8 lakh per kg to Rs 4.95 lakh per kg. Its price has increased by about 40 percent in the last one year.
