Sensex rose 230 points to 71337


Mumbai: Christmas, calendar year 2023 is coming to an end amid the overall holiday mood around the world, foreign portfolio investors, strong presence of foreign investors, local funds, domestic institutional investors today improved the Indian stock markets for the third day in a row. Local funds, maharathis, big players booked overall profit in IT stocks today except Wipro with exception, while the market remained in positive zone with buying in automobile, capital goods, metal-mining, oil-gas, healthcare, banking, consumer stocks. Funds including frontline stocks Wipro, NTPC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, Titan Company, Power Grid Corp, Asian Paints, Nestle India, HDFC Bank lifted the Sensex by 71,471.29 to close by 229.84 points. It closed up at 71336.80. While the Nifty 50 spot index increased by 91.95 points to close at 21441.35.

Auto index improved by 369 points: Hero rose by Rs.128 to Rs.4064: Mahindra, TVS Motor rose

The BSE Auto Index rose 369.22 points to close at 40847.42 as funds in automobile companies bought fresh in anticipation of a good recovery in the companies' performance at the end of December. Hero Motocorp rose by Rs.127.85 to Rs.4063.95, Mahindra & Mahindra rose by Rs.26.90 to Rs.1661.70, Motherson Sumi rose by Rs.1.39 to Rs.96.18, TVS Motor rose by Rs.88.40 increased by Rs.6454.20, Bosch increased by Rs.226.60 to Rs.21848.50, Eicher Motors increased by Rs.40.25 to Rs.4044.60, Maruti Suzuki increased by Rs.60.10 to Rs.10,275.

Healthcare stocks rally on fear of corona outbreak: Panacea, Themis Medicare, AstraZeneca rise

Amid the re-explosion of Corona in China and the flurry of a new wave spreading around the world, funds continued to buy heavily in healthcare stocks today, expecting a big increase in business in the healthcare-pharmaceutical sector. Sincom Formulation rose by Rs.2.35 to Rs.14.13, Themis Medicare by Rs.34.20 to Rs.216.65, Panacea Biotech by Rs.12.05 to Rs.171.20, Supria Life by Rs.19.60 317.15, Medicamen Bio increased by Rs.29.75 to Rs.586.35, Laurus Lab increased by Rs.17.55 to Rs.432.50, AstraZeneca increased by Rs.212.40 to Rs.5558.45, Morpen Lab increased by Rs. .1.92 increased to Rs.51.12, Divi's Lab increased by Rs.130.65 to Rs.3825, Stride Pharma increased by Rs.20.10 to Rs.656, Torrent Pharma increased by Rs.73.05 to Rs.2288.20 . The BSE Healthcare Index rose 346.43 points to close at 31095.11.

Hindustan Petroleum rises by Rs.15 to Rs.384: IOC, GAIL, ONGC, BPCL rise

International crude oil prices remained broadly higher amid increasing attacks on ships in the night sea, but funds remained buoyant in stocks amid reports of a rift in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). Hindustan Petroleum-HPCL rose by Rs.15 to Rs.384.15, IOC rose by Rs.4.30 to Rs.128, GAIL India rose by Rs.2.55 to Rs.154, ONGC rose by Rs.3.35 to Rs.207.25, BPCL increased by Rs.5.60 to Rs.452, Petronet LNG increased by Rs.1.85 to Rs.216, Reliance Industries increased by Rs.12.80 to Rs.2577.50. The BSE Oil-Gas Index rose 325.81 points to close at 22811.59.

Kotak Bank rises by Rs.25 to Rs.1886 : HDFC Bank, State Bank attract: Bankex rises by 302

Funds in banking-finance stocks were the preferred buys today. Kotak Mahindra Bank traded up Rs 25.05 to Rs 1886.35 in the last hours after buying. HDFC Bank increased by Rs.12.40 to Rs.1683.10, Bank of Baroda increased by Rs.1.55 to Rs.225.15, Axis Bank increased by Rs.7.20 to Rs.1095.05, IndusInd Bank increased by Rs.10.05 increased to Rs.1572.30, State Bank of India increased by Rs.1.30 to Rs.637.95.

Profit booking in IT stocks: 63 Moons, Cient, Oracle down: Wipro, Sascan, Black Box up

Funds in IT-Software Services, Technology stocks were selling profitably today. 63 Moons Technology fell by Rs.17.80 to Rs.475, Cient fell by Rs.47.50 to Rs.2340.25, R Systems fell by Rs.9.90 to Rs.563.40, Oracle Finserv fell by Rs.54.45 to Rs. 4159.55, Mastec fell by Rs.30.35 to Rs.2773.25. Of course Sasken Tech rose by Rs.117 to Rs.1390, Black Box rose by Rs.12 to Rs.252.05, Wipro rose by Rs.7.35 to Rs.470.05.

Small cap, mid cap, re-funds in cash stocks, broad bullish in players: 2292 positive close

Market breadth remained positive as Sensex, Nifty based local funds rose for the third day in a row with mid cap, small cap stocks maintaining attractiveness. Out of the total 4030 scrips traded in BSE, the number of gainers was 2292 and the number of decliners was 1599. The BSE Small Cap Index rose 21.36 points to 42203.11 and the BSE Mid Cap Index rose 257.05 points to close at 36139.73.

Net sale of Rs.95 crore in cash of Khainj/Khainain : Net purchase of Rs.167 crore in Khainain

Foreign Portfolio Investors - FPIs, FIIs had a net sale of Rs.95.20 crore shares in cash today-Tuesday. A total of Rs.6269.35 crore worth of shares were sold against a total purchase of Rs.6174.15 crore. While DII-domestic institutional investors bought net shares worth Rs.167.04 crore today. A total of Rs.8663 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs.8830.04 crore.

The asset-market capitalization of investors in stocks increased by Rs.2.13 lakh crore to Rs.358.91 lakh crore.

Investors' wealth i.e. aggregate market capitalization of companies listed in BSE increased by Rs.2.13 lakh crore to Rs.358.91 lakh crore in a single day today due to rising interest in Sensex, Nifty based frontline stocks and buying attraction in small and mid cap stocks.
