AI : Every new invention initially terrifies mankind

- The Conundrum of Economics - Dhawal Mehta

- Every new discovery has a favorable factor along with a negative aspect

The Age of Artificial Intelligence Will Make Human Life Richer and Longer You Radio, T.V. Telephone, cooking gas, electric light, refrigerator, railway and air travel, bike, car and AC. Imagine life without it? Tammar would arrive but each of these inventions was initially opposed. Every new invention terrifies mankind and there is a lot of discussion about the dangers of this invention before it is implemented. When cooking gas was invented and introduced to India, most people believed that cooking gas cylinders would burst repeatedly and many people would die. It happens but it happens very rarely. When the motorcar was invented, there was a fear that its speed was so high that millions of people would die under the motorcar or truck. The same was thought in the case of trains. When the railway train entered India, coconuts were broken in front of the railway engine considering the train as a demon or Kalika Mata. Even when TV was invented, there was a fear that people would ignore work and watch TV or another fear arose that watching TV would spoil the eyes of boys. After it was invented in China, when it came to India very late, there was a fear that tea would become a habit and tea drinkers would become addicted to it. Even when the printing press was invented, there were fears that it would put millions of people out of work and that there would be such a need for paper that the earth's forests would be cut down. Even before schools and colleges were started, there was a fear that still persists that by sending girls to schools or colleges, they would fall in love and get spoiled and marry a foreigner. At the time of the invention of chemical fertilizers and even today it is believed that only manure is good because chemical fertilizers will harm the crops and destroy the fertility of the soil.

The opposition of Gandhians and Sarvodayans and Gandhians against industrial society is still going on. If we had believed that the fear that chemical fertilizers and pesticides would reduce the fertility of the land and start drought, then the green revolution would not have happened in India. People even consider milk as a violent activity and consider it taboo. They cannot be taken seriously. Every new discovery challenges the old living system and therefore opposes orthodoxy. They dedicate a 'back to nature' lifestyle to industrial society as merciless, exploitative and merciless. Of course, the Industrial Revolution and the subsequent Information Society (Information Page) have increased human life expectancy, and Japan ranks first in the world with an average life expectancy of 85 years. At one time, when penicillin was discovered, there was a fear that the patient would die from its reaction, so it should be used more cautiously. There are still old people and conservatives who are opposed to medicines invented in the western world who prefer to take Ayurvedic medicines instead of medicines invented in the western world. Instead of making big claims to prove their efficacy, Ayurvedic medicines should adopt the method of randomized double blind studies to prove the efficacy of the medicines and disclose their results. Mankind need not fear artificial intelligence. Of course the misuse of computers and cellphones and blackmailing people with false threats will also happen in the AI field, but artificial intelligence will be of great benefit to mankind.
