- Delhi tops the country in crypto investment by value

According to a report by crypto currency platform CoinSwitch, the total number of crypto investors in the country is over 1.9 crore and about 9% of them are women investors.

According to the report, 75% of the crypto currency investors in the country are youth and their age is between 18 to 35 years. This figure shows that youngsters are very interested in crypto currencies.

Among these, only metros like Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai account for a fifth of the total value of crypto investments. Delhi tops the country in crypto investment by value.

According to the report, Dogecoin was the most popular cryptocoin in 2023. It had an 11% share in total crypto investments. It was followed by Bitcoin (8.5%) and Ethereum (6.4%).

MUMBAI: Brokerage firms and fintech companies have objected to market regulator SEBI's discussion paper considering all stock trading orders issued through Application Programming Interface (API) as separate trading, saying it could adversely affect the growth of such trading from India. Algo trading is considered to be an automatic buying-selling system based on algorithms. SEBI has recently said in a discussion paper that it would create a framework for regulating Algo trading by retail investors. A senior official of a brokerage firm said that monitoring of Algo trading is a need of the hour, but such an attempt could hamper the growth of Sebi Algo trading.
