Gold futures marginally up for the week: Silver continues to pull back

A total turnover of Rs.4,85,925.17 crore was recorded in 68,25,409 trades in various commodity futures, options and index futures on the country's leading commodity derivatives exchange during the week of December 15 to 21, with commodity futures accounting for Rs.85, 950.38 crore and the share of options was Rs.399894.19 crore.

In precious metals futures during the week under review, 6,90,952 trades worth Rs.47,237.95 crore were transacted in gold and silver. Among gold futures, gold February futures opened at Rs.62,550 per 10 grams at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs.62,680 and a low of Rs.61,950 during the week, rose by Rs.49 to Rs.62,503 at the end of the week. In non-ferrous metal futures, 97,354 deals worth Rs 10,884.09 crore were traded at MCX during the week. Copper December futures opened at Rs 727.55, down by Rs 1.15 to Rs 726.00, while the aluminum December contract fell by Rs 0.50 to Rs 199.95 and the lead December contract fell by Rs 4.95 to Rs 726.00. 179 was the price.
