PAN-Aadhaar Link Process | The central government had set a deadline of June 30, 2023 for linking PAN and Aadhaar (PAN-Aadhaar). After which people were asked to link PAN-Aadhaar by paying a fine of Rs 1000. Call it the laziness of the people or the mistake of passing the deadline which cost them a lot but at the same time it was beneficial for the government.

Necessary government work has also been ruined!

Even after paying this penalty, people are now linking PAN-Aadhaar Link (PAN Aadhaar Link). This is also very necessary otherwise the government work of most of the people is messed up. People are not able to do large amount transactions in banks. Government schemes are also not getting benefit. Aadhaar-Paan link is required for all these works.

Shocking information given by the government in the Lok Sabha

In response to a question in Parliament, the government said that the government has recovered around Rs 2,125 crore by linking PAN-Aadhaar with penalty on 1 July 2023. Meanwhile, 2.12 crore people had linked Aadhaar card with PAN card (PAN-Aadhaar Link Process).

PAN card deactivated?

In the winter session of the Parliament, a question was raised in the Rajya Sabha that people who have not linked PAN-Aadhaar are their PAN cards being deactivated. On this, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that till June 30, 54,67,74,649 PAN cards have been linked with Aadhaar. No PAN cards have been deactivated. Only the pages which were not linked with Aadhaar were made inoperative.

No tax refund will be given

Informing about the action to be taken if PAN-Aadhaar is not linked, the Minister of State for Finance said that no refund will be given by the Income Tax Department if Aadhaar is not linked with PAN. Interest will also not be paid if the PAN remains inactive.

How many PAN card holders in the country?

If you pay tax and your PAN-Aadhaar Link (PAN-Aadhaar Link) is not linked then the government can levy more tax. The Minister of State for Finance said that as per an estimate, there are around 70 crore PAN card holders in the country, out of which only 60 crore PAN card holders have linked Aadhaar with PAN so far. In that also 2.12 crore people got PAN-Aadhar card linked by paying fine.
