Deadline for renewal of life insurance policy till May 31: IRDAI

Insurance regulators IRDAI has once again given a deadline of May 31 to renew the life insurance policy.

IRDA has taken this decision in view of the plight of policyholders due to the ever-increasing Corona virus across the country.

The IRDAI said on Sunday that the decision was taken to provide relief to life insurance policyholders, adding that the Covid-19 has created a state of uncertainty.

After extending the lockdown till May 17, customers who renew their policies in May will now get a respite, they will now have till May 31 to renew their life insurance policies, customers who are in arrears for March will get relief.
