Ratan Tata, a well-known businessman in the country, has struck a business deal with an 18-year-old teenager.

Tata has invested in 18-year-old Arjun Deshpande's two-year-old start-up. Although it is not known for how much the deal was done, it is said that Tata has bought a 50 per cent stake in the start-up.

Arjun Deshpande has started a pharmaceutical company. He was 16 years old when he started this company. Arjun's company sells goods directly from manufacturers to customers, which has resulted in a 20 per cent increase in revenue. While Arjun has set a revenue target of Rs 150-200 crore for the next three years.

Arjun got this inspiration from his mother who is involved in the international pharma business. Going to other countries to accompany him on a business tour, Arjun came up with the idea of opening a company because he saw how cheap drugs are sold in other countries.

"It is also my mission to provide cheap medicines to the elderly and pensioners. 60 per cent of the population cannot afford expensive medicines," says Arjun. Ratan Tata is also attracted by Arjun's idea.
