Mumbai, Ta. Thursday, October 15, 2020

In the September quarter of the current year, the volume growth of the country's e-commerce sector has been 21 per cent as compared to the September quarter of last year. The growth was attributed to an increase in demand for home goods due to the corona, according to a research report.

The September quarter was the first period since the lockdown was lifted, with trade activity continuing in most parts of the country.

The country's e-commerce sector is growing faster than expected in the Corona era. It remains to be seen whether the expansion of the e-commerce sector will continue, the report said. The Corona epidemic has changed the whole picture of the retail sector in the country.

E-commerce is at the forefront of the retail sector today. E-commerce players operating in the country are upgrading their technology in view of the growing workload and are also recruiting in large numbers. In addition to volume, the value of orders also grew by 3% in the September quarter.

The shift in consumer purchasing patterns in the country's second- and third-tier cities has played a major role in the development of e-commerce.

The increase in the use of smartphones is also supporting the expansion of e-commerce. Online shopping has seen an increase in purchases of personal care items, medicines, electronics and readymade garments. In addition, grocery purchases are also seen to be high.
