Investors' assets fall by Rs 6,000 crore to Rs 4.31 lakh crore
(Gujarat News Correspondent) MUMBAI: Shares of companies in all sectors except metal-mining stocks witnessed steady profit booking over the weekend today. With the Bank of England raising interest rates for the second time in a row in the UK as inflation continues to be a risk factor on the global front, the Reserve Bank of India is now taking steps to curb inflation by raising interest rates ahead of state elections. The prospect of a FPI-Foreign Fund easing the cautious bullish trade. Metal-mining stocks saw a sell-off in funds of companies in all sectoral industries, except for a rally in fund selection and attraction in some FMCG stocks. Banking-finance, automobile and realty stocks were the main gainers, with the Sensex falling 19.50 points to close at 5.9 and the Nifty spot down 2.50 points to close at 1912.50.

The BSE Bankex Index fell by 31.8 points to close at 31.8 today on the back of steady selling of funds in banking-finance stocks. Bank of Baroda down Rs 5 to Rs 105.50, AU Small Finance Bank down Rs 2.50 to Rs 12.5 20 fell to Rs. 20.50, Bandhan Bank fell by Rs. 2.50 to Rs. 214.10, Kotak Bank fell by Rs. 4.5 to Rs. 18.10, ICICI Bank fell by Rs. The BSE Metal Index rose 4.5 points to close at 206.9 on the back of fund selection in metal-mining stocks. Reporting the merger of Vedanta Resources Ltd. with Vedanta Ltd. as speculative and misleading, the company said Vedanta Ltd. increased by Rs. 10.5 to Rs. Jindal Steel rose by Rs 10.50 to Rs 115.15, JSW Steel rose by Rs 2.50 to Rs 2.50.

Bananari Aman Sugar rose by Rs 1.05 to Rs 2.15, Hindustan Unilever rose by Rs 2.50 to Rs 305.50.

With index-based Sensex, Nifty eroding, A-group and small-cap, mid-cap stocks, profit-booking of investors, the accumulated market capitalization of companies listed on the BSE fell by Rs 3,000 crore in one day to Rs 4.21 lakh crore today.
Net sale of Rs 3 crore shares in FPI / FII cash: Net purchase of Rs 3 crore shares in DII cash
FIIs - Foreign institutional investors, foreign portfolio investors - FPIs today saw a net sale of Rs 2.5 crore in cash. A total of Rs 4.5 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs 4.31 crore, while DII-domestic institutional investors made a net purchase of Rs 21.5 crore in cash today. A total of Rs 2.7 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs 216.5 crore.
