Finance Minister Sitharaman said that by the end of February, more than 130 crore e-rupees are in circulation in the country. After the pilot project of digital rupee was introduced by the government last November and December, it has received an encouraging response. Feb. As of end 4.14 crore in retail sector and 126.27 crore in wholesale sector digital e-rupees are in circulation. At present, digital rupees are transacted through nine banks in the country.
