The Bisleri company which was supposed to be taken over by Tata but now may see a new twist. According to recent reports, Bisleri International Chairman Ramesh Chauhan's daughter Jayanthi Chauhan will now take charge of the bottled water company. Some time ago it was learned that Tata Consumer Products is in talks to buy Bisleri. But recently the Tata Group has said that now it has stopped the talks with Bisleri.

Bisleri International's deal with Tata canceled

"Jayanti will now run the company with our professional team and we are not looking to sell our business," said Ramesh Chauhan, chairman of Bisleri International. 42-year-old Jayanthi Chauhan is currently the Vice Chairperson of Bisleri International. According to people in the know, Jayanthi will now work with a professional management team led by Angelo George. Talks were going on between 82-year-old Ramesh Chauhan and the Tata Group to sell the company. This deal has been cancelled.

Acquisitions are an important part of a company's growth strategy

Tata Consumer had started talks with the Chauhan family two years ago but the talks were reportedly called off last week. Jayanthi has been associated with the business from time to time over the years. The Vedika brand, part of the Bisleri portfolio, has been their focus for the past few years. At the same time, Tata Consumer managing director Sunil D'Souza said in a recent earnings call that the acquisition is an important part of the company's growth strategy.
