Gold futures rose by Rs.2700 and silver by Rs.4500 on a weekly basis.


A total turnover of Rs.6,33,473.46 crore was recorded in 74,58,840 trades during the week of March 10 to 16 in various commodity futures, options and index futures on the country's leading commodity derivatives exchange, with commodity futures accounting for Rs.1, 38,385.23 crore and the share of options was Rs.4,94,699.44 crore.

Meanwhile, commodity futures and options recorded an all-time high turnover of Rs.1,68,487 crore during the week on Wednesday, March 15. Along with this, options on commodity futures on the exchange saw a record notional turnover of Rs 1,37,282 crore, while crude oil options contracts recorded a high turnover of Rs 1,24,952 crore.

During the week under review, 14,00,579 trades worth Rs 81,730.56 crore were transacted on MCX in precious metals futures gold-silver. In gold futures, MCX gold April futures opened at Rs.55,325 per 10 grams at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs.58,661 and a low of Rs.55,270 during the week, ended the week by Rs.2,705 and increased by Rs.58. ,006 was reached. Against this, Gold-Guinea March contract rose by Rs.1,532 per gram to Rs.45,693 and Gold-Petal March contract rose by Rs.235 to Rs.5,689 per gram.

Gold-mini April futures rose by Rs.2,670 to Rs.57,942 per 10 grams.

Among silver futures, silver May futures opened at Rs.61,750 per kg at the beginning of the week, touched a high of Rs.68,720 and a low of Rs.61,353 during the week, increased by Rs.4,547 to Rs.66 at the end of the week. It closed at the level of 531. The Chandi-Mini April contract increased by Rs.4,369 to Rs.66,633 and the Chandi-Micro April contract increased by Rs.4,371 to close at Rs.66,652.

In non-ferrous metal futures, 1,46,580 deals worth Rs 19,761.63 crore were traded at MCX during the week. Copper March futures opened at Rs.749.70, down by Rs.2.65 to Rs.751.30, while Aluminum March contract fell by Rs.1.70 to Rs.203.60 and Lead March contract fell by Rs.0.85 to Rs. 182 was the price. The zinc March contract fell by Rs.7.60 to Rs.255. Among the mini futures, aluminum-mini March futures fell by Rs.1.85 per 1 kg to close at Rs.203.90.
