Gold futures rose by Rs.1600 and silver by Rs.3700 on a weekly basis.
A total turnover of Rs.3,28,936.69 crore was recorded in 48,40,428 trades in various commodity futures, options and index futures on the country's leading commodity derivatives exchange during the week of March 17 to 23, with commodity futures accounting for Rs.1, 12,441.79 crore and the share of options was Rs.2,16,196.87 crore.
During the week under review, 11,10,855 trades worth Rs 71,698.03 crore were transacted in precious metals futures in gold and silver. Among gold futures, gold April futures opened at Rs.58,269 per 10 grams at the start of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs.60,455 and a low of Rs.58,143 during the week, ending the week with a jump of Rs.1,559 to Rs.59. ,565 was reached. Against this, Gold-Guinea March contract rose by Rs.1,381 per gram to Rs.47,074 and Gold-Petal March contract rose by Rs.131 to Rs.5,820 per gram. Gold-mini April futures rose by Rs.1,494 to Rs.59,436 per 10 grams.
Among silver futures, Silver May futures opened at Rs.67,140 per kg at the start of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs.70,262 and a low of Rs.67,003 during the week, ending the week with a jump of Rs.3,681 to Rs.70. , closed at the level of 212. The Chandi-Mini April contract increased by Rs.3,489 to Rs.70,122 and the Chandi-Micro April contract rose by Rs.3,474 to close at Rs.70,126.
In non-ferrous metal futures, 1,06,411 deals worth Rs 14,228.2 crore were traded at MCX during the week. Copper March futures opened at Rs.755.80, up by Rs.32.15 to Rs.783.45, while Aluminum March contract rose by Rs.0.25 to Rs.203.85 and Lead March contract fell by Rs.0.30 to Rs. 181 was the price. The price of zinc March contract increased by Rs.0.50 to Rs.256. Among the mini futures, aluminum-mini March futures rose by Rs.0.30 per 1 kg to Rs.204.20, Sisu-mini March contract decreased by Rs.0.10 to close at Rs.181.55.
