For another two months, new business is unlikely in malls and hotels

MUMBAI: Despite regulatory measures being relaxed in various states of the country, a large number of consumers are not keen on going to malls or restaurants for the next two months.

According to a survey conducted by a private firm, 60 per cent of consumers who expressed a reluctance to go to malls and restaurants to shop for the next two months. 4% of people want to go to malls for shopping and 40% of those who participated in the survey said that they are eager to visit restaurants.

However, 80 per cent said they did not hesitate to invite relatives, friends and utility providers home.

2000 consumers were surveyed in 215 districts of the country. Consumers were covered in first class urban areas at 4 per cent, second class cities at 3 per cent and the rest in small towns and rural areas.

It is worth mentioning here that the second wave of Corona has affected the income and savings of a large number of consumers and also the risk of the third wave of Corona is looming, due to which the minds of consumers are still in turmoil.

The 30 per cent who are in a hurry to go to the malls may expect the third wave of Corona to arrive sooner than expected. The tendency to exit without following Corona's protocol could accelerate the spread of the virus, the report noted.
