Imports soared against the pullback in domestic edible oils

Palm oil in Malaysia exploded sharply in the afternoon

(Gujarat News Office) MUMBAI: The Mumbai Oilseeds market witnessed mixed weather today amid rising prices of various domestic and imported edible oils. Domestic edible oil prices remained subdued by rising prices behind the manufacturing establishments while imported edible oils continued to advance overall in the spot and futures markets.

Meanwhile, the bullish circuit was implemented for the second day in a row as soybean futures continued to rise today, sources in the futures market said. Crude palm oil CPO and soyoil futures also bounced today.

In the Mumbai spot market, imported palm oil today traded at around Rs 1,150 per 10 kg in direct delivery at the refinery, while hawala-resell traded at around Rs 40 to 50 tonnes for Rs 115 to Rs 115. In the Mumbai spot market, the price of 10 kg of cingulum oil was Rs 150 at Rs 150 today while the price of cottonseed oil was Rs 1905 at Rs 150.

Mustard was priced at Rs 150 and refined at Rs 1,310. Meanwhile, the prices of cingulum oil fell again to Rs 1,200 per kg and Rs 15-60 per 15 kg, while the prices of cotton washed were quoted at Rs 150 to Rs 12 per kg and Rs 150 to Rs 15 per kg.

In the Mumbai spot market, the price of imported palm oil rose by Rs 1,150 per 10 kg today. While crude palm oil CPO Kandla was quoted at Rs 105. In the futures market, the CPO's June futures rose to Rs 1,050 and were at Rs 105 to Rs 105 in the evening. CPO futures were raised by Rs 15 to Rs 12 today. The CPO's July futures were at Rs 4.50 this evening. Thus the July futures were significantly lower against June.

Meanwhile, soyoil's July futures touched a high of Rs 15 today and were at Rs 15-16 in the evening. Soyoil futures were raised by Rs 15 to Rs 12 today. In the Mumbai spot market today, soyoil prices rose to Rs 15 per kg, while refined prices stood at Rs 1,905 per kg. Sunflower prices, however, remained on the decline again today. The price of sunflower was Rs.150 with Rs.150 while the price of refined was Rs.1700 with Rs.150.

Mumbai spot castor oil prices today fell marginally by Rs 105 to Rs 1,105 per kg, while spot castor prices fell by Rs 515 per kg in Kiev. In today's castor futures market, however, the July price was up by Rs 8 to Rs 215. In the Mumbai flour market today, the price of a tonne of groundnut flour remained soft at Rs 600 to Rs 700 while the price of sunflower flour was quoted at a high of Rs 200 to Rs 500.
