Once again increase the amount of e-way bills generated

MUMBAI: As more and more states are easing lockdowns, the amount of e-way bills being generated is also on the rise. In the first twenty days of June, e-way bills generation has increased by 8% in terms of number compared to the same period in May, while value has increased by 20%.

In the first twenty days of June, a total of 4.5 lakh bills were generated with a total value of Rs 10,606.5 crore. In the first 20 days of May, a total of 4.5 lakh bills worth Rs 4.5 crore were generated. The GST taxpayer has to generate an e-way bill for the movement of goods worth more than Rs 50,000 from one state to another.

The increase in the number of e-way bills is a sign of improving the state of the economy, not only for the government but also for the government, as it will see an increase in revenue through GST. At the beginning of the current financial year, i.e. in the first twenty days of April and May, e-way bills generation declined significantly, according to Finance Ministry data.

With the increase in GST collection, the financial strain of the Center and the states will be reduced, said sources in the finance ministry.
