Gold futures fall by Rs 2,240 to Rs 4,400 on a weekly basis
MUMBAI: The country's leading commodity derivatives exchanges recorded a total turnover of Rs 1,3,31.5 crore in 21,03,8 deals in various commodity futures, options and index futures during the week from June 11 to 12. Among precious metals, gold futures traded lower by Rs 3,50 per 10 grams and silver futures by Rs 2,500 per kg during the week. All nonferrous metals were reduced. In the energy segment, crude oil rose by Rs 15 per barrel.
Natural gas was also shut down. In agricultural commodities, cotton futures fell by Rs 20 per bale. There was a universal softening in CPO, cotton and rubber futures. Mentha oil was discontinued.
In the global market, gold fell by ૭૭૮ 16 an ounce and silver by અંતે 1.05 an ounce over the weekend.
There were reports of more sellers in the domestic spot market and fewer buyers in the domestic spot market as import costs fell due to the global market crash, which led to a fall in gold price per 10 grams in the local spot market at Ahmedabad to Rs 2,600 from Rs 2.50 and Rs 7,000 from Rs 4.50. In the spot market at Ahmedabad, silver fell to Rs 30,000 per kg, market sources said.
