Investors' wealth rises by Rs 40 lakh crore in first half

AHMEDABAD: The Indian stock market has seen a sharp rise during the first six months of 2021. The Sensex Nifty has seen both record highs during this period. Investors' wealth has increased by Rs 20 lakh crore during the period.

During this period, the Sensex has gained about 10 per cent and the Nifty 12.5 per cent. The average market capitalization of companies listed on the BSE increased to Rs. 3 lakh crore. When it was Rs 3 lakh crore on July 15. As on December 31, 2021, it was Rs 15 lakh crore.

On July 17, the Sensex touched a new high of 8.3.18. On the other hand, the Nifty also touched the level of 12.3.5. The statistics indicate that the last 10 years have been 7 years when the bulls have dominated the other six months of any year. It may be noted that the second half of 2020 also saw a 5 per cent rise in the Nifty. However, analysts say that the uptrend will continue in the second half of 2021.

Anuj Jain of Green Portfolio says the pace of the Nifty 50 has been uncertain over the last 10 years. Sometimes we have seen sudden upheaval in the market. And it's been trending down for a while. They further stated that large, mid-cap and small-cap spaces are still undervalued. The market and the Nifty are more likely to gain further heights in the post-Coro situation.
