Vehicle exports rise to 7-year high
New Delhi: Sales of auto companies in India have seen a positive growth in the wake of the Corona epidemic, which has also seen encouraging activity on the export front. Despite the difficulties in purchasing auto parts during the Covid-17 ban, vehicle exports in the first six months of the calendar year 2021 have reached a five-year high.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, total vehicle exports to India during January-June grew by 4.5 per cent to ૨૩ 2.81 billion, the highest since the first six months of 2017, when exports stood at 2.3 billion. .
In terms of numbers, the number of vehicles exported during January-June stood at 10,8,9 units, an increase of 2.4 per cent year-on-year, the first double-digit growth in the same period since 2014.
According to export markets, North America accounted for 10.8 billion, the highest, followed by the European Union with ૭ 2.15 billion and Eastern Europe with ના 2.8 billion worth of vehicles. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy said: "Global market share has increased due to the efforts of local companies to increase productive competitiveness despite the shortage of automobile parts."
On an annual basis, exports of automobile parts grew by 7.5 per cent to 11.71 billion during January-June 2011.
