A report claimed that 2022 saw a record level of resignations, but 2023 saw the highest number of CEO exits. The data only includes executives who have at least 10 employees and have joined US companies as CEOs for two years.

What is the reason for leaving the job?

Due to the corona epidemic and global tension, a dire situation has arisen against many companies in America due to which the number of employees is decreasing rapidly every year. On the other hand, CEOs have also resigned at record levels. However, after the epidemic, the situation has slightly improved.

Most of the CEOs left this sector

The government and non-profit sectors had the highest number of CEO resignations. 350 people resigned from this sector this year which is 85 percent more than last year. Technology CEOs came in second at 140, a 50 percent increase. However, 22 percent of these CEOs are also retired. A total of 24 percent of CEOs retired last year. However, no strong reason has emerged as to why this is happening. Most of these CEOs have joined company boards or continued as consultants. While most of the people are taking responsibility in other companies.
