Black Monday in stock market: Sensex falls 826 points, investors lose 8 lakh crores


Stock Market Closing Update Today: Today has proved to be Black Monday for the business session of India. The market witnessed a heavy fall due to the selling of foreign investors. This is the fourth consecutive session when the market has seen a decline. At the end of the day, the market Sensex closed down more than 800 points. BSE Sensex fell 1.26 percent to close at 64,571.88, down 825.74 points. Similarly, the Nifty closed at 17,281.75 today, down 0.34 per cent at 260.90.

8 lakh crores of investors were washed away

Investors have suffered huge losses in today's market. BSE market cap Rs. 311.30 lakh crore which in the previous trade was Rs. 318.89 lakh crore was. That means investors have lost Rs 7.60 lakh crore in today's trade.

Red mark was seen on most of the stocks

Out of 3990 stocks, 3188 stocks closed lower in today's market. An increase was seen in 644 shares. Besides, there was no change in the rate of 158 shares. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 26 stocks saw red mark. While 48 out of 50 shares of Nifty saw red mark. Which shows that there was chaos in the business situation today.
