Detailed information about guar gum industry

- Industrial guidance - Dhiru Parekh

Guar gum is obtained by extracting the seeds of the leguminous tree. Guar gum is similar to locust bean gum (carob seed gum). Guar gum is used as an economic thickener and stabilizer. Guar gum is very soluble in cold water and is also a good emulsifier. Guar Gum – A non-ionic ingredient that is highly potent. But is not effected against ionic ingredients.

The water soluble flour (flour) content of guar gum is about 85% active. It is called guaram. It contains 35 percent galactose, possibly 63 percent polysaccharides and 5 to 7 percent protein.

Uses of Guar Gum: Food, Confectionery, Syrups, Kesap which are food grade. Used in cosmetics, personal care products. They are of cosmetic grade. Like :-

* 2 - Hydroxy propyl ether of gum guar - non ionic

* 2 - Hydroxy - 3 - Trimethyl Ammonium Propyl Ether, Chloride = Cate Ionic

* Hydroxy propyl-2-hydroxy-3-trimethylammoniopropyl ether-chloride = cationic

The above three products can be used for personal care such as creams, lotions and odor absorbents.

* Printing Gum: Guar gum is mostly used for cotton printing.

* Colloid - Hydrocolloid: The way the gum guar is being used inside the printing gum can actually dull the color. Because whatever is made of gum. Each of them is an amine base. The amine base reduces guar gum translucency and thins the gum.

Another reason is that the amine base of guar gum is degraded in saline water. Also salt is used to bring down the cost of guar gum among other reasons. So the salt is separated into quality standards and does a negative chemical action. Because of this, the chemical structure of amine base guar gum is proved wrong. In contrast, the chemical structure of amide base guar gum becomes very perfect.

The salt content in amide base guar gum can be adjusted up to 30 percent. The amide base guar gum is not much affected by salt. That is, salt does not have a long lasting effect on guar gum. Along with the cost gets adjusted. Amide base guar gum has twice the density of amine base, and washes very easily with super printing. Because amide base has negligible amount of chikas. Due to this, the gum dissolves quickly in the water. Due to this, the printed goods are ready quickly. Water can be saved.

* License :- The license under the Industries Act and clearance from Pollution Control Board authorities is required.
