Local funds rally: Sensex up 305 points to 73905


Mumbai: Against the overall sluggishness in the global markets, funds in the Indian stock markets today brought the market back into the bullish zone by rising in IT, Auto, Healthcare-Pharma, Capital Goods, Consumer Durables frontline index stocks along with Tata Group companies. Of course, many stocks in small, mid-cap stocks may have become overvalued at this stage, with the capital market regulator SEBA urging asset managers of small, mid-cap funds to provide more information to their investors about the risks associated with small, mid-cap funds, and to mitigate this risk in the future. Several stocks saw softness today as funds, operators increased distribution ie selling on possible profit booking. Tata Group shares rise: TCS rose by Rs.102 to Rs.4103: Tata Motors rose by Rs.26 to Rs.963

Funds again bought heavily in Tata Group companies today. Tata Consultancy Services-TCS rose by Rs.102.40 to Rs.4102.80, Tata Motors by Rs.26.05 to Rs.962.75, Tata Steel by Rs.1.55 to Rs.144.15, Titan Company by Rs.31 .50 up to Rs.3652.55, Tata Consumer Products up by Rs.6.75 to Rs.1183.35, Indian Hotels up by Rs.10.05 to Rs.589.75, Voltas up by Rs.18.60 to Rs.1116.40 , Tata Communications gained Rs.39.80 to Rs.1908.90, Tata Investment Corporation rose by Rs.60.25 to Rs.7135.

Auto index Tata Motors surges 310 points: Hero, MRF, TVS fall

In the stocks of automobile companies today, the BSE Auto Index rose by 309.66 points to close at 47668.86 on the strength of Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Eicher Motors. Of course, Hero Motocorp fell by Rs.79.35 to Rs.4417.50, MRF by Rs.2013.20 to Rs.1,46,398.20, Apollo Tires by Rs.6.95 to Rs.519.25, TVS Motor by Rs. 26.50 decreased to Rs.2135.05, Sundaram decreased by Rs.13.25 to Rs.1081.55, Maruti Suzuki decreased by Rs.37.40 to Rs.11,422.05. While Eicher Motors increased by Rs.45.70 to Rs.3997.45, Bajaj Auto increased by Rs.15 to Rs.8462.40.

Capital Goods Index rises 454 points: Gold BLW, ABB, CG Power, AIA gain

A selection of funds in capital goods-power stocks were bullish today. Sona BLW increased by Rs.22.50 to Rs.687.75, ABB India increased by Rs.155.25 to Rs.5452.40, CG Power increased by Rs.10.60 to Rs.439, LG Equipment increased by Rs.13 to Rs.634. 25, Hindustan Aeronautics increased by Rs.45.25 to Rs.3095.15, Grindwell Noten increased by Rs.23.55 to Rs.2184, Larsen & Toubro increased by Rs.36.45 to Rs.3506.25, Honeywell Automation increased by Rs.317.30 increased to Rs.38,420. The BSE Capital Goods Index rose 453.64 points to close at 57661.34.

Buying in healthcare stocks: Dishman Carbogen, Bliss GVA, AstraZeneca, PolyMedicare up

Funds in healthcare-pharmaceuticals companies had a selective buy today. Dishman Carbogen increased by Rs.18.15 to Rs.255.90, Bliss GVS increased by Rs.6.15 to Rs.136.10, Poly Medicure increased by Rs.61.50 to Rs.1626.45, Max Healthcare increased by Rs.16.85 852.10, Thyrocare up by Rs.12.25 to Rs.641.80, AstraZeneca up by Rs.104.95 to Rs.5566.30, Mankind Pharma up by Rs.35.15 to Rs.2100, Sun Pharma Industries by Rs.22 .15 increased to Rs.1579.10, Cipla increased by Rs.19.20 to Rs.1488.95. The BSE Healthcare Index rose 177.85 points to close at 35672.94.

Consumer Index up 512 points: Havells up Rs.44, Blue Star up by Rs.36: Dixon down by Rs.185

Funds were buying stocks of consumer durables companies. Blue Star increased by Rs.36.10 to Rs.1292.60, Havells India by Rs.43.95 to Rs.1469.30, Aditya Birla Fashion by Rs.3.45 to Rs.228.85, CG Consumer by Rs.2.95 increased to Rs.291. While Dixon Technology decreased by Rs.184.60 to Rs.6758.40. The BSE Consumer Durables Index rose 511.68 points to close at 51307.52.

Attraction in IT Stocks: Intellect Design, Quick Hill Techno, Happiest Minds, Boom in Datamatics

Funds in IT-software services, technology stocks were bullish today. Intellect Design increased by Rs.85.20 to Rs.1068.25, Quick Hill increased by Rs.39.20 to Rs.572.90, Happiest Minds increased by Rs.34.90 to Rs.869.25, Zensar Technology increased by Rs.13.65 Rs.545.75, Sascan Technology increased by Rs.41.50 to Rs.1747.70, Datamatics increased by Rs.14.05 to Rs.611.90. The BSE IT index rose 289.59 points to close at 38508.41.

Small, mid cap, funds in cash stocks, distribution of operators: 2353 shares closed negative

Market breadth remained negative as distribution of funds, operators increased in many stocks today in small, mid cap, cash stocks. Out of the total 3929 scrips traded in BSE, the number of gainers decreased to 1493 and the number of decliners increased from 2268 to 2353 today.

Investors' wealth in stocks-market cap. Rs.9 thousand crores decreased to Rs.391.99 lakh crores

Sensex, Nifty-based rebounded today after losses, with SEBI urging asset managers of small, mid-cap funds to provide more information on risks to their investors, with funds, operators' distributions across several stocks rising. The wealth of investors in stocks, that is, the aggregate market capitalization of companies listed in BSE, today fell by Rs. nine thousand crores to Rs. 391.99 lakh crores.

FPI/FII net selling Rs.1509 crore : DIIs net buying Rs.2862 crore

Foreign Portfolio Investors - FPIs, FIIs had a net sale of Rs.1509.16 crore in cash today on Tuesday. A total of Rs.17,909.84 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs.16,400.68 crore. While DII-domestic institutional investors saw a net purchase of Rs.2861.56 crore worth of shares today. A total of Rs.8941.85 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs.11,803.41 crore.
